I'll take pictures of everything on Adam's car next time I'm there...for my "practical how to" to accompany your wiring diagram.

Been a while on this!

Following a mate's engine swap, i found myself looking at a 1.2 8v corsa B engine. Looks like (didn't check then) the trigger wheel is a 60-2. Looked it up on google... looks to be 60-2 :)

So he's going to get me it along with the CPS :)

first step towards my LH2.4 360 :D

Potentially. It's more getting your head around exactly what you need to do (i.e. what exactly the correct position is) than anything. The flywheel option (assuming you have it on the right bolt-hole) has to be correct, but a trigger wheel can go in any position. A slight inaccuracy can be corrected in software (after measurement with a strobe) with programmable management, but you need to get it bang-on with LH.

I guess the other option is to mount it in such a way as it can be adjusted, fit it in approximately the right position, then time it up accurately against the book spec on a trial-and-error basis using a strobe.

cheers

I pulled a trigger wheel off a X14XE corsa yesterday (damn bloody stupid corsa) and thought of this project!

Want me to grab a picture? It's a pressing as part of the crank pulley, poly V. I'm not sure I'd use that wheel because of that, the true engineering way to fix it would be cutting a keyway in the crank and using the poly v pulley, but won't be easy. FWIW, I'd be tempted to use the corset sensor if it's electronically compatible with a laser cut trigger wheel accurately machined to fit the crank pulley of the B200.

Flywheel in the long run will always be best though, for the reason Foggy suggests, AND you can use a standard sensor without having to fab up bracketry.

You can buy the trigger wheels for cheap off the shelf (for example - http://www.034motorsport.com/034efi-eng ... p-105.html)...so I wouldn't muck about with deconstructing a Corsa crank pulley.

I would bite the bullet and fit the flywheel. Take it as an opportunity to reinforce the shifter linkage (ask Adam about the value of doing that...!) and fit a shiny new clutch. You could have it all done in a day if you get a bit of a shuffle on. Just make sure you do it on a nearly empty tank! I've never liked add-on triggers, especially when there's an OEM solution.

The keyway on this pulley isn't that sexy, will take a bit of machining to get to fit right. Flywheel would still be my choice ;)

Cheers for the help.

Yeah looking at those pics it does look like it might be a chew on. I'd go for the flywheel straight away if i needed a new clutch but the current one is perfect, plenty of life left. I liked the idea of a trigger wheel due to the fact if something didnt work i could just plug the LE back in and drive the car. But by the looks of it i'll have to get the fly off the donor car and fit it. Gear linkages I'll do at the same time. I have access to a whole new torque tube with the linkages on so will probaly replace my current ones with them and re-inforce them while its off the car. Also give me a chance to clean up the gearbox and give he underside some attension. I take it the petrol tank has to be moved or that little connecting tube removed thus the low petrol advice? I have a mate (the one who's corsa's trigger wheel i was looking at) who's swapped his engine and got it running pretty much fine in a few hours so will probably enlist his help when it comes to changing the fly.

I'll do all the LH loom fitting and test all the components before to make sure (well sort of sure... you never know with these things) it will work once the new fly's on before hand.

An OEM way of doing things is always best like.I seem to remember liam had to mount his CPS slightly differently when he did the b230t swap, might have to do that her too.

Now its just the wait for studnt finance to give me monies then roll on the LH2.4 360 :D

Cheers for the help guys, i really could not do this without yous!

Yeah, you need need to remove the link pipe between the two sides of the saddle tank, hence the low petrol advice.

Wire it right and you'll not need to look back at LE. We wired the 740 to be reversible...but there was little point in bothering.

You need to grind out the bellhousing a little for the LH CPS. Bolt the CPS to the block, then offer up the bellhousing and mark out what you need to cut...it's not a huge amount.

cheers

Right, I now have the money, just need to find 240/940 in scrap yard now...
I also have gearlinkages and a new clutch so might as well do the fly-wheel too
