PASSED finshed the welding today and took her up no pictures as i couldnt be bothered haha sorry

Had no work booked in for the morning so i got busy swapping the front bonnet and wings back to the white ones also removing the bonnet pins as there a pain the arse on a daily car and giving it a good wash and hover out inside now looks loads better and as promised some pictures


while i had the front wings off i thought i woud take a picture as they are mint sadly my phone has lost the other side but it looks the same

I did the other side when I had the wings of last just forgot to do that side I will do it soon

i have a update be it another small one
lately ive just been enjoying driving it trouble free with only the speedo and central locking breaking
the update part is ive always felt the steering wheel was to far away from me so ive knocked up a spacer out of a old steering wheel and boss then bolted it together its brought the wheel about 30mm closer to me and feels better but another 20-30mm would make it feel loads better hers a picture to show what i mean not a very good one thou looking at it but you can just see it

originality does suck in most cases but can work not for me thou come the summer mine will be getting a camo paint job as its well shabby depending if i sick with the 13s will get wider ones thou i will go lower or 15S stay the same height and a engine conversion hopefully also im hopefully (if nothing happens money wise) hitting up the first buxton drift weekend in march if you fancy skidding for dirt cheap £30 for the weekend haha

a new cam and dual weber carbs are the plans at first for mine

the wheel looks good! any luck finding inserts for the suspension mat?

the wheels are of a caravan haha the are lower offset than anythign else ive got so i chucked them on front to see what they looked like ive got two more but there on the other side and the caravan needs moving to get to them and i cba at mo i will do it as some point but there just temp wheels anyway

and on the insert i gave up after no luck and my next door neighbour getting a big ass metal lathe i keep meaning to ask him if we could shortern the inserts i dont see any reason why not if the heat is kept down, if hes in tonight ill nip round and ask if they could be done on his lathe

yeah ive taken mine apart and i dont see any reason why you cant shorten the oil reservoir itself too, but im going a slightly different route with mine so far

well spoken to my neighbour and next week some time were gunna have a go depending if the lathe can hold it securely and how tough the metal is if it can be cut but i dont think that will be a problem
but if all goes well i will be shortening the hole assembly about 3" the damper rod and out tube and the hole strut its self why im at it i may as well fit them height adjustable coilover selves as the car is about 3" lower on the front this will give me loads of bump travel and make the springs not dislocate

You want to use a collet lathe as a 3 jaw cuck is likely to mark the stem and then causing the seals to tear.

Probably out of yor budget but my dampers run a short stroke for use with lowering springs.
