Sorry dude, I will make sure I play and get some in! Actually, Andy Pettaw came up with some good points when he came round last weekend and had a play, I'll get him to put some up too!

Well I have been away from mod making too and I will not do to much until it gets colder outside, just a little if I get inspiration.

I just did little update for one track maker so he can compare how corners are on that track using my videos and mod so I thought that I upload it here too ;)

Ive done all the poly reduction to the model now, but there are still some panel gaps at the front that you can see through. I'll be clearing them up in the next day or two redy to send to you.

I see you kept my textures in seperate files, but I see most cars have nearly all textures on one sheet. Would it be alright if I set up a new texture sheet and apply it ready for your next version :)

Downloading this as we speak :) Thanks again for getting her in there :)

I think that it is better to keep textures separate as it saves quite bit of mapping during process, then later I may put more of them to one file, perhaps as there is quite lot I need to work with still :P

Ok, one issue though is that the bumper just uses a small texture, so no images could be put on if required.

I'd like to do some stuff to the mapping, but perhaps if I just finish off the model and send it to you, then other stuff can be done later :)

Yes, for bumper I have been thinking that I get new photo to use as texture, I took one day over 300 photos from car for textures, all is from interior however, but my bumpers have been developed certain level of grayness lately so can't use those.
Maybe I find some photo from interior to use as it really does not need to be much special, just black with small bumps in it, like steeringwheel center area.

I would need to take more photos from interior as there is lot of shine and reflections, it was bright sunny day, cloudy day might be better to start with.

Also headlights and front blinkers might use new texture, must try that one, but I think I need to make some kind of mask from paper so that reflections would be neutral, have to think about that, I'm not very good in photographing yet, but that I will learn too now :D

Also I need to think about GLT and GL Injection bumpers as those are colour coded as are mirrors too and how am I going to get those work properly in game.
Then also comes hatchback 3dr and 5dr models and there is some issues too to be solved.

If you look close this latest version you can see how other side tyres are installed wrong way to wheel, tire thread goes wrong way, I was bit lazy with mapping on that ;)

I have used so far texture named black.dds for black parts, but that is going to change, every texture and part must be named unique, if track has texture black.dds game uses car or track texture, impossible to know which, so need to name those and make final textures and then do mapping.

I can send it then back to you when I get it to enough ready state so you can make re-mapping if needed, I lack few skills to make mapping 100% right I'm sure

Oh yes, forgot to mention, you need to remove old volvo folder from gamedata before you install this latest, otherwise it may use wrong files or something...

Personally I wouldn't use photos. They're very good for low poly models to look better, but when moddeled well, painted textures are better. Look in the rfactor vehicles folder, say the Hammer, and you will see that flat colours are used (but perhaps with darker shades lower to give a shaoddow impression. This is because the games engine can apply reflections, shadows etc.

I would create a section of bumper, perhaps using a pic as a basis and just stretch it out. Then for colour coded, the grey bits in the texture file will be changed. Therefore to get colour coded bumpers you just choose a new skin :)

I'd be happy to do some of this, but if you'd like to, go ahead. As for the indicators, I rather like mine ;) Took me a while to photoshop a front and side together so it wrapped around. I plan to get some new tyre images of propper Mitchilins. Perhaps I could use the one under the bonnet as it's original :)

As for hatch/saloon etc, I need to drop you a PM about this.

It is as much welded as I quickly was able to make, it really is viscous coupling with 100% power to left and right rear wheel so it is not quite welded because of that, I will look if it is possible make lock even better as now it requires bit slide to work out.
