now then i dont have any complaints about the car my 1.4 turns over at first turn of the key

i dont have any problems with electrics (and yes my heated seats work)

there is hardly any body roll (and belive me i courner pretty sharp ) there are plenty of worse cars with excesive body roll

havin owned quite a few cars i can say with out a doubt that this is one of the best cars out there

the rust on mine is miimal for a 14 soon to be 15 year old car

i supose my only complaint is the wieght of the car

The 1.4 is probably the best of the bunch for body-roll (maybe a GLT with its slightly stiffened suspension?), as the engine is so much lighter. A 360 other than a GLT (same suspension as your 1.4!) is fairly damn roly-poly!

cheers

according to my manual (which i dont believe) all gle's had glt dimentions, with a wider/longer wheelbase and shorter than other cars.

driving them, theres not huge amounts of difference - its not realy noticeable.. having said that nessy has the soggiest suspension i've ever used. the heavier engine might actually HELP bodyroll as it would lower the cog.

is it possible they updated the suspension on later models
i know that ford tend to add there next model componets to the last cars off the line

i had a 1990 f**d orion that was the last of the mk 4s but it had a mk 5 rad and other parts do volvo do a simmilar thing

power windows!!!

they are so annoying. nothing convenient about the, though it is nice to power down both sides.

I dont understand this invention really, its not eventhat automated, i still ahveto hold the button down and by the time its done i could have already wound it.

ah buti f you are not strong enough to wind the windows!!! anyone who can steer a 300 could snap a window handle right off.. ah well that makes some snse then.

but really they havebeen nothing but trouble, putting car onto car trailer, door cant open. battery flat.. have to climb into the rear..

crpa crap crap!!
useless design

ims ure you all lovethem

I think they *had* to fit them to meet the spec of their competitors. They're nice when they work, but a PITA when they fail - I think a lot of us have been there!

cheers

Neither my heated seat or my rear window demister work, I-m planning on replacing all the fuses just in case.

GLT's definitely have different front suspension, according to my green spec book, also GLE/GLS from 1985.

Mind you, V***S gives different part nos for GLT rear springs as well, although the spec book doesn't.
