went perfect, flushed entire system and she'll brake like a maniac! rest of brakes looked very ok, just did a little cleaning/coppergreasing at the front brakes. considering the future plans, wasn't worth swapping it for new material.

then yesterday evening, in the darn hot weather here i made myself crazy enough to do some tig welding at home.

won't say it petrol-leak-proof jet, but planned on finishing it in 1 or 2 weeks

then came relocating radiator, to make room for the intercooler, oil cooler and 2 10inch electric fans. did some measurements on my red car, till i came to my senses and realised i had a brandnew mk3 front laying around:


radiator will be supported with 3 stainless steel brackets, radiator clears the waterpumppully by about 1 inch. more than enough fabricated it in a way i don't need to drill aditional holes.

the bottom 2 brackets + mounting rubbers, without welding:


top bracket, with welding.


inside the U shape piece of the bracket, some highgrade rubber will be fitted in order to damp vibrations

plans of putting engine in car this weekend are suspended, other job came up and i need some rest

finished radiatorbrackets yesterday so today was trial fitting day. had to get rid of the mounting rubbers though, they bended too much so the radiator got loose. fixed id with some stainless steel bushes i fabricated with 5 minutes of work

beware, this radiator is for trial fitting only, i have a brandnew one in stock

then the big test, will the intercooler get along with the grille;



yes it fits, just as i planned it to !

after that did some messing with the brakes on the red car because it failed my pre-MOT test on handbrake, f*cking MOT, one day in a year that the handbrake on a cvt vehicle needs to be operational and it wasn't...

No bumper/grille would look VERY badass dude.
But then youd lose the 'immaculate sleeper' look.

I honestly think the cars in such pristine condition, you should try and keep it looking as standard as possible.

dude, it's expensive. allready over €300,-

all that for some aluminium and sillicone parts

however, missed a part on the website, when applying that it should look 10x better and should be about 2 parts cheaper. therefore, tomorrow afternoon the second marriage and divorce

it's not even 5% of the total costs for the project but it will be well worth it for the "classy looks" factor.

still afwull lot of money for a few pieces of silicone and aluminium coudln't find the parts cheaper though, and it's good quality and that last bit is very important to me aswell

i'll put the engine back in tomorrow to redo the shopping list and after that i'll place the order might keep the engine in for a while to make a mock-up engine bay loom, so i can fabricate a completely new loom at Terberg.

i searched my ass of for this intercooler, cost me a whopping 400 euro's because it's a rare size...
i'll get back to that this afternoon, busy at work

Super stuff mate! Next thing my turbo needs is pipework for intercooler and (more expensively ) oilfeeds as the turbo has been moved to standard.

This car does look awesome, must be a good feeling!

my oilfeeds are the cheapest and most heavy duty parts of the entire project, i use 275 bar (3981psi) braided hoses used on the terberg trucks , connecting couplings are supplied by terberg aswell,

from intercooler straight to the back of the car with a 90 degree 76>64 elbow, with this intercooler that will just clear the front bumper mounting brackets, though the brackets and the front need to be slightly modified for the hose to clear it. because i moved the radiator back about 10cm in total there's loads of space to go around it.

first plan was for the intercooler to go straight into the front bumper mounting brackets, bit through the chassis beam and then in the engine compartment out and to the carb and turbo; would have worked aswell but that would be more pipework and potentially more turbo lag.

started with engine loom, every single dawm wire has to be replaced since lengths i want to use don't match


also placed order for intercoolerpipework, little over €350 in total ouch
