I nearly got a job working for d&b. I may well still end up working there ultimately...we're in touch. Very cool company, and awesome products. I digress...
They do make really great products, although I've never had the chance to work with them.
One of the rental companies I regularly work for has purchased the new yamaha M7CL... hope to be able to use this baby in the very near future...*drool*
Well even if I could get the d&b rig off site I can't fit an F-series rig in the car! And for what they are the SRMs are exceptionally good quality, at under a grand they are damn efficient, and nowhere near as heavy as you'd expect, I like them.
So balls to you james! I'm gonna go and play in my anechoic chamber!
I used to have a pair of EV SX-500s. They looked sweet in the back of the 340, I must confess that I did sometimes wonder if I could get some juice into them.
What fun it would be, driving around the local chav estate with J S Bach / John Coltrane / whatever rattling their windows

I remember being on broad street in brum (the main road with all the clubs) and a beige micra full of early 20's guys posing with the frog chorus on incredibly loud.
the smile stayed on my face for hours!

I agree...they're a totally badass pub rig... Just kidding...I have a problem with those things because of the kind of people who generally own them...ie: idiots. SX300s may not be much better, and may be a lot more expensive...but they're less likely to come with a complimentary moron owner. SX500s are ugly as sin, but actually damn fine speakers. My colleague has literally just bought a set on eBay for £400....total steal at that price.
Having said that...so goes the old saying..."I admire more the man who can achieve a great sounding mix on a Mackie than a Midas".
I remember driving my gold Montego round Cambridge city centre with all the windows open and five long-haired friends squeezed on board, all of us headbanging "Wayne's World"-style to the relevent guitar bit in Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, which was being played repeatedly at full volume.
I'm not sure whether the passers-by were laughing with us or at us, but it seemed to amuse most of them.

You need the Bottom outtro, plus a set of thick rim joke specs, and a job that gives you the key to the local park Got some proper looks hanging out the windows with that on full blast.
Or coming out of a classic car show at a steam railway car show, in a line of 5 300's Volvos, playing "Battle Without Honour or Humanity" from Kill Bill, and having Steve looking back from the front trying to work out why he can't hear his own stereo anymore

A slight exaggeration But I could atleast hear some resemblance of "music" from Chris's car
