I was chatting to the main man on msn tonight ,

the fact is real life can get in the way of an internet car club .

not everyone has the advantage of working from home like me and living a life and paying for it must come first ,

This club has come a long way since I joined it , lets not let it fall apart because of outside influences ,

lets be fair, without Aymats vision and commitment , none of us would have ever met wether on the internet or in real life .

I would not have known any of the great guys I have spoken to and / or met including Pete , will , foggy , Gavin , Rupert , chesh , andy ,adam , Mac, Mick t and of course Vicky (sorry Dai too ) oh yeah I better include Hugh.

this club isn't only about the cars its about longstanding friendships ,
shit I don't even own a 300 now but I would sure miss you guys if it wasn't for this forum .

I consider Aymat to be a true friend even though I have never met him face to face,

just try and refund my donation , its worth every penny (or euro if you prefer ) this place was never about money , status or anything else other than a common enjoyment of old volvos and friendship .

Of course, the above comment was written in jest. I've spent enough time living to know that things get in the way of hobbies. I would like to unreservedly apologise for any offence that my comment may have caused.

This is a first class on-line community and Aymat is owed a great debt of gratitude. I would echo what everyone else has said:
  1. I do not feel that I have any special privilege just because I happen to have "V3M donor" below my username. Within reason, I do have freedom of speech though.
  2. It is a pleasure to be able to support this site. By all means remove the donor tags, but do not consider returning any money that I have sent.
  3. It would be nice if something could be done about sharing the responsibility of administering the site.
It costs me twice as much to be a member of the Volvo Owners Club, but I get far more out of this site.

As good as I think the VOC is... that is indeed truthful. I've always considered the VOC a bargain, never looked at it like that before!

Hmm, did I pay the VOC membership... hmmm

I joined the VOC for insurance discount - which did actually work and beat any other quote I could get by around £150

However, their lack of support and poor catering for the 300 series means I'm gonna be thinking twice whether I renew my membership.

Ooops... actually it expired at the beginning of this month!

Why is there poor support for 300's though? As us lot are all too lazy to send anything in.

I know I'm not the only person to have been asked to do an article on my cars, and havn't. However, there are a few aspects of the 300 section of hte VOC that I don't get on with, well, ok one aspect of the whole VOC, who I don't think needs mentioning.

It's a fair point....there's no magic VOC fairy who is going to provide 300 series content for the magazines - that's our job!

cheers
