Aye as it came from the factory. I like it better than the chrome with it being a late model. Think I'd probably choose vinyl over spraying them so that its easily removable if you change your mind and you dont have to go to the hastle of masking etc. Buy a roll of gloss or satin black 'fablon' sort of vinyl stuff from wilkinsons/boyes/yorkshire trading co. sort of place and have a go!

-edit, I know wilco's do some textured vinyl but not sure how close a texture they do to factory
Thanks dude i'll check it out and have a go my self :D If not get someone good to do it lol

Right, so had a few days waiting to take the car up to the garage for welding and re-test so thought I'd crack on and get the oil cooler in.

Started off by butchering a road sign frame that happened to be sitting in my garden :)
Image

Then made a more funky bracket, and received my lancia delta integrale guage's :D
Image

Bolted it all up and it was in :)
Image

like so:
Image

Image

and when the grille's on you see... not much :(
Image

Received some sensors but i'm going to have to get an extension or something as the pressure sensor won't clear the top of the temp sensor at all when its in :/
Image

Also received rear leaf spring polybushes, ARB to body polybushes and uprated early style ARB link pins all from Dai :D

Yesterday I dropped the car off for welding and MOT. Today I picked it up with solid sills and a white bit of paper of the 'Passed' variety :D Also came with both sills coated in waxoyl which isn't too bad i suppose, i did like them the same colour as the car though. oh and he filled my diff up too :D Is easier to skid now its got oil in lol

Hoping to change the Gearbox, torque-tube with welded gearlinkages, and Diff in the next few weeks after some Motivation from Atchi (miniswift) :D

Hopefully the rest of the oil cooler and filter relocation will happen tomorrow, along with picking up the site stickers and possibly finding a place for them guages. I'll do wiring down at BKV maybe. Few final checks and tyre pressure adjustments before setting of down on friday for Thoresby hall.

Am pretty sure money will be spent down there and I'll come back with some goodies, and be shot of a few wheels :D

Any Ideas for mounting the guages very welcome :D

Just caught up with your latest posts. Just been through the M.O.T. with both cars this week, that rust is pretty common unfortunatley, best left to an expert if you are in a hurry to get back on the road. I did mine but it still took a while to get the hang of it, and I wasn't in a hurry/working outside either. Cars looking good and coming on great now, they do look good without the rear bumper but some de-seaming would improve them. Much better than having the front bumper off...thats not a good look

On the M.O.T. front, I was told in the last year or two that no information goes onto the national computer untill a pass is given, so a fail is only known to you and the examiner. (don't know if this is still true). Just don't present the failure sheet if stopped at random!!! And don't draw attention to yourself.......by driving around in an old car with wide wheels for example

I like the greenhouse workshop....I have one of those, I'm growing Mk1 headlamps in mine at the moment and the petrol tanks are coming along nicely in the corner

oooh Cheers for all the comments!!!!

Aye I'm very glad I didn't sell it and it's my absolute pride and joy, I couldn't say It's the nicest 300 like, can think of a fair few much nicer ones
There are many things not quite right with it, and being a daily it's never going to be showroom condition again. I'm quite overwhelmed at how much you all like it :D It's not 'Slammed to f**k, no ferrari engine swap or Custom paint job, Its all just little bits of all sorts. I do love it to bits though :D

Yeah Wish I'd started much earlier and better prepared on the welding, or just got someone who has a vague idea of what they are doing to do it. I cut a huge section off the back of the sill and thought SHIIIIIIIIITTTTT!! Still all done and roadworthy now so I'm chuffed.

hahaha that made me laugh :D Yeah mine's getting a tad overgrown

Today didn't see the oil cooler get put in, I'd gone to a mates to do it and brough everything, including more oil, PTFE tape, the lot... Apart from the plate thet goes where the filter sit's as standard
So it's just for show for now :)
Found another centrecap so I now have 2 :)

Finger's crossed the car's all ready for the trip down to BKV tomorrow :D

Got back from BKV today, had an amazing time, was nice to put some faces to names :)

I bought a new oil filter for when i do the relocation later this week, a spare o/s front wing with floor trays :) and a new air filter . oh and a couple of new e-mirror switches as one of mine decides it doesn't like to work some of the time and a spare e-mirror for £2 :D

Gonna finish fitting the oil filter relocation and cooler this week and crack on with the gearbox and diff i have in the greenhouse so that i can test Atchi's LSD :)

I'll stick some photo's up soon :D

that oil filter plate is massive you may find that it wont fit as space is really tight there. i just fitted one to mine and you have to take the engine mounts off to get it to fit, all though the filter touches the engine mount on my 360 to i had to dent the filter to get it all back on.

ah, mine's a filter relocation kit too, so I have one plate that goes onto the block that has two hoses off it, one to the cooler and one to another plate I'm putting over by the battery that has the filter on, then the other end of the oil cooler goes to that if you get me? The one in the last post is the filter one, not the one that goes to the block. Might have a play with it today and take some photos.

Oil filter is a tad awkward under the exhaust manifold as standard.
