i seem to have forgotten to finalize my first reply posting... here we go again;

I have already started a thread about this subject on the dutch Volvo 300 Club forum. As of yet there are no replies, but i'm sure there will be some interest in it over time.

if we could arrange for a group sale, shipping costs could be reduced considerably too.

do you consider selling 'just the gasket in an envelope' too?

Greetings Wouter

I'm sure a lot of ppl would only want the gasket on its own. Could also be worth seeing if any of the specialists would be interested in some.

Evnin'all,

Thanks for the replies so far - I'll go ahead and order the Cu washers.

Wouter, - I'll supply the 'kit' in whatever form people want - if you just want a gasket (or just s/s capscrews, or just Cu washers) no problem. If you do have any interest from the Dutch 300 club we will probably find that 5 or 6 single gaskets in an envelope cost the same to ship as one kit anyway.

When I'm ready to supply I'll work out a tariff for different combinations etc.

Mac.

mac there doesn't seem to be a big demand for these gaskets right now. the thread I started has almost no reactions.

perhaps i will inform about other gaskets that can be made of the same material?

I had to make another gasket as the one I made before was a bit off scale. :P I can upload the scaled version of the mac's drawing if someone wants it.

I used a different material this time also.

It was much more easier to cut.

UPDATE.

Sorry things have gone a little quiet - family illness means 200+ mls. a day up and down the A12 but. (aren't hospital carparks bloody expensive !!!).

Am waiting for delivery of sealing washers.
Am now 'cutting' gaskets.
Too good to be true on s/s capscrews - supplier couldn't or wouldn't supply in qty. at price discussed. Full kit will still be supplied with a set of M8x12 capscrews but of BZP Alloy steel grade 12.9. Washers will be A2 stainless/s.

Will update with supply and pricing details as soon as I can.

UPDATE

Getting there at last - the gasket kit as it will be available.
Image

Final pricing structure - this is after considerable negotiation with suppliers (and myself to curb my commercial instincts !).

Gasket (1) £1.50 Copper seals (2) £0.70
Capscrews (10) £1.10 S/S washers (10) £0.30

Packaging £1.00 Post (full kit) £1.27

The kit costs out at £3.60 + £2.27 p&p (at the risk of being accused of profiteering I shall round this up to £6.00.

A gasket alone (with copper seals) costs out at £2.20 + £1.65 p&p which I shall round up to £4.00

My budgeting relies on a run of 50 gaskets (to cover my costs only) at the above prices (to v3m only). I shall also try some on the bay, but at a rather higher cost.

Payment by cheque, P/O, cash, or paypal - but no strings of beads. Contact me initially by PM and I will confirm cost and payment address.
If multiples are ordered in one package I shall adjust p&p accordingly.

I am still rather tied up (family in hospital wise) but I should be able to supply from the middle of next week. (sorry all this has dragged on a bit).

Note - as previously stated to keep costs resonable I have substituted BZP 12.9 alloy steel capscrews for the original S/S.

Hope above meets with approval - Mac.

Dead impressed, my orders going in!!!

On similar subject, progress is being made on the cover plates, with lots of help from mac again. Might be some pictures soon... maybe. I'm talking with the foundry at the moment. If anyone wants to get Volvo to start making them again, nows the time to get involved, before too much more work goes in ;)
