Oil light never comes on, bulb good.

It wont come on, ever... put my hand up the back and used a lighter to see, tried a different bulb, no luck. :(

Connect the wire at the oil pressure switch to the ground and see if the light comes on if it does the oil pressure switch is faulty if not then you will have to check if you have 12 Volts on the wire if not then check the wire up to the light bulb and see if you can measure 12 volt.

Lets hope it;s the switch coz I can't be bothered with wiring :-)... if it is the wiring I think a temporary bypass is in order till I can summon the courage to take the dash out. fingers crossed.

Oh, any idea what the "turn light off" pressure is, Likely I'll need a universal/pattern part, what's the pressure required to turn the light off?

Half a bar. If the dash oil idiot light *ever* comes on when the engine's running it's pretty much broken :evil:

Why they are set at half a bar I have no idea.

shorted the wire and it turns the light on, so the switch is jammed open, - easy to do with such a weak spring... I might bash it around in some paraffin first.

what mm spanner is the sensor? I need to buy a socket / plug spanner, i'm pretty much without any tools at the moment
