Rare Grille and Driving Lights

Well, with many thanks to ChrisC, who convinced me at the meet to buy his spare rare Hella grille, here it is installed and wired up! However, I did have a few problems. Not one hole or pin lined up on the grille to my orginal fixings! Obviously when the grille was new there were four lower pins and you snapped of the ones that weren't needed, well of course, they were the one's I needed! Plus the holes at the top didn't work with the orignal clip down sprung pins as the holes are too small and some are missing. But we got over that for now, with some special custom made fixings. So, here are the results, with some reminders from Foggy on wiring the relay in correctly, as I'd forgotten!

As you can probably tell it is sitting a little bit high at the moment, but stage two of the plan will be in progress soon, so that won't matter too much!

Erm about a month ago I had a fiddle about and found time to swap the relay, however the replacement didn't do anything, swapped back and it must have been a bad connection on the original, as it worked! Rather annoying in some ways, as I'd taken the relay out before and looked for any corrosion. Still at least it ended up being something simple.

Yeah you're right, in that bright light in my workshop it does look very different. Also it's surprising just how much difference a grille makes to the overall appearance of the car. TBH I think some people would have difficulty in identifying the car as a Volvo from the front without the diagonal Volvo Badge from a distance.

Looks damn good, I haven't been sure on the looks of the Hella grille before, but since the last meet I quite like em. 300 series lights are pretty poor, it'd add some much needed extra visibility :)
