need new engine! asap!

hi,

i need a b14e engine with everything to make it run properly, the engine ive got is on its way out i think so..

the car (F REG) got an engine from and older model (B REG) and the timings out and the renix is f**ked and im revin the car to death just to get some speed.

At the moment the car tops out at 63mph thats Not good.

if anyone can help me please?

Unless the engine is mechanically broken or severely worn, you are probably better off getting the right parts, Sounds like you just need the right ignition computer, they are pretty reliable and easily sourced. You need the right one to match the engine, ignition timings do vary alot between models/years, but it is unusual to be lacking such alot of power. The renix unit code usually start with a 4 and is 3 digits, some with a following letter.

I don't know what F or B reg means (N.Ireland doesn't used letter year system), but you need to state the year of the engine and the full number eg B14.4, and what Renix you have. I suggest starting a topic in the Engine section to figure out what you need. The owners manual can tell you what Renix you need, but you probably need the one from the engines year, not your cars. Someone here will have the information, and there are some posts about already.

I think you are right, but I would do a separate post for it. Unfortunately I don't have a 402.

Also make sure your vacuum advance tube is not blocked, or the unit on the renix not got a hole.
