Not igniting on no 2 cylender don all the usual New HT leads Plugs Distributor cap ect.
Compression test ok
Spark at no 2 but not igniting.
Any Ideas please
Test no. 2 plug in a different cylinder to verify that the plug is working, just because it's new it doesn't mean it's any good as you can sometimes get a bad plug in a new set ( it may be breaking down under compression). If it is ok in different cylinder then just check another plug from another cylider in no. 2 to see if that is working, if not then re-check all connections on leads.
Thanks for the reply Have tried that to no avail Have double checked all the HT side including switching everything around and everything still comes back to no 2
check carb for air leaks, and check inlet manifold gasket for air leaks too. Use either an unlit butane torch when the engine is idling, wave it around the carb and inlet manifold area, pointing at gaskets noting any change in engine note. If the engine pick up improves, then you've found your leak.
One other thing, just check the tappet clearance. They go out on the 1.4's and need to be checked/adjusted once a year.
