Its the little overheat resistor on the resistor pack. You need to remove the heater box assembly under the bonnet. Once the box is removed, separate the two halves by prizing the spring clips, careful not to lose any, they can ping anywhere.

The resistor pack is then self evident. There is a little bimetallic strip that's designed to cut the power to the fan if the coil pack overheats to prevent fire, its probably either corroded or soft and has bent out of contact, so clean with contact cleaner and if necessary bend very gently back into postion.

Hope that helps

This seems to be a very common problem. I see people (including myself) everywhere having this problem. Mine came back alive the same way it 'died'. It's still working ever since. I think it's pretty weird.

It may have something to do with the big fuse in the radiator house. Could be a bad contact with the wires, or it needs to be replaced.

Ok, that's a better description from Pettaw. Was replying at the same time :-) I know a dutch guy who has the story of the quest for this fuse on his site with photos. If it doesn't sort out i could try to translate it for you.

Your motor is most probably partially seized and therefore using too much current.

You'll need to strip it out and give it a clean and lubricate.

Mine stoped when it was on in third level after driving away with a cold engine in the winter :-S
