They're not the same. Anjo says changeover was 84.
So need a pre 84. With it being an 82.

I see's. Could just be the exciter wire that's duff. Easy fix if so. Was over talking to John and Gaz today and they mentioned that as a possible cause.

Hi Ben.
When my mk1 starter went tits up, a mate had a latter modol one.
It went in just fine.

Yeah. it was never gonna be hard to suss was it.:lol: I dropped a bid in with 7 secs left on the clock and netted her for £285. :D

Seeing as it's mostly a mk2 with a few mk1 bits hoyed on that they wanted shot of, I'd guess the starter should be the common type, but who knows lol.

If not, it's probably worth stripping the solenoid and cleaning it out as that can fix a sticky starter in my experience. I reckon it shouldn't be too bad though cos the geezer tells me it only sticks on occasion, and he's been running it daily for 16 months, so carb and points(?) etc should be fine.


In a moment of pure coincidence, I am currently watching Only Fools and Horses a Touch of Glass - where they bust the chandelier and tow the 343. :lol:
