Vario...

Hi guys

I'm looking for a vario to use as a daily whilst I finish off my 16 valve conversion. I'm ideally after a car that is ready to go with some T&T and isn't going to provide too much of a distraction from my other one!

Near Worcester/Oxford/Midlands would be best but I'd be prepared to travel for the right car.

Cheers

Alex

Theres this one on eBay currently with T&T and doesn't need a lot doing to it.

I would have been interested myself if it were a manual.

I'm keeping an eye on that, rather dubious though, the same car was advertised/sold for £250 17 days ago (http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/cla ... rno/131130) as needing gearbox work, which hasn't been mentioned in the ebay ad. I had a look at it this morning (guy is currently away but told me where its parked) the transmission looks covered in oil and it has also got bad visible surface rust on one of the rear arches that hasn't been photographed or mentioned.

A nice vario with the clutch gapped correctly is a real hoot around town. It's a good idea getting one, enjoy :-)

For some reason, they're one of the few types of V300 which seem to be rarer in the UK than this side of the channel. I could point you towards all kinds of LHD ones. Keep an eye out for a Volvo 66 as an alternative.

Cheers

Tom

I'd try the Sheffield one - a bit of a trek and a pain without MOT (but u could drive to one if you booked one?)

Get Foggy to fetch it and MOT it.

On second thoughts, maybe not - you do want it this decade after all..........

Thanks for the links.

I bought the first ebay car in the end, turned out to be a lot better than it first looked. Really one owner from new then inherited by the current owner, full main dealer service history from new!

This vario larks fun feels like driving with a permanently slipping clutch!

Good innit man?

Learn to drop off enough to keep the revs asap for big(Ger) mpgs. Other than that, its all fun!

Get your pics out!
