Instead of swapping the whole engine to a b230ft, would there be much gains in finding a 940 etc. with a B200 with LH2.4 and just taking the Unit, loom and flywheel and sticking on the existing B200 with a lambda /o2 sensor?

As it 'learns' it would make the engine more efficient and maybe more powerful? and would be something i could just about do myself.

It'd probably be easier/more performanc-y/cooler to swap the engine or run megasquirt or similar but am just curious lol

Yes, this is the swap I was talking about a while back. 240 is easier, the loom for LH is already separate. I have a 2.0 LH ecu here for sale Rather than swap the flywheel, you could mount a trigger wheel to the crank pulley too for added easiness, but less sexiness.

Anyone done this that you know of Chris?

I take it you could manufacture your own loom pretty easy if you're handy with a soldering iron (which i am ) and a wiring diagram. Trigger wheel sounds a lot easier to do. No way of using the existing flywheel sensor?

Aye its mainly MPG point of view i was looking at this from. Suppose it couldn't be any worse so its probably worth doing.

Don't know of any one, but the 2/9s that have lh walk over le powered 300s in terms of mpg.

Trigger wheel for a test install would be simple enough that its worth a go, weld a lambda bung in, check Bosch numbers to see the orig injectors match electrically and rock on.

hmm. i really quite fancy it now might do some looking at wiring diagrams for LH.

See i really dont have the suitable space to do an engine swap, no crane, no space for donor car, no money for donor car, need my car every day more or less etc. etc. SOO this seemed like a nice idea (one of those ones you don't expect could work) instead of a swap.

guessing, without looking at anything, that you could get the ECU, make a short loom to test it without installing it, weld in lambda sensor and add trigger wheel, then just unplug the LE and plug in the test LH loom to all the components needed.

Might have to get me a LH ecu to play with, scrapyard mission soon then

If you can wait, just get the engine bay loom from an lh 240, it'll save loads and loads of time and will be cheaper!

After a bit of research into LH, i've found that the ignition system might need changing? to EZK or something?

Plus i couldn't find any info on how many teeth the trigger wheel would need. suppose i could count them on the flywheel of a LH motor?

How much are you after for yours chris? Chances are i'll wait for a 240 and get everything out of that as i can definately wait lol (due to my less-than-a-tenner bank situation)

The trigger wheels exist, I found them the other day. Search phrase is "lh2.4 trigger pattern" memory says it was something sensible like 60-2 though, but check!
A tenner +postage would make it appear in your posty box

hmm tempting like, will wait and see what funds turn up and if you still have it by then, i'll have it off you. Unless i find a 200 in a scrappie to take the lot of that beforehand.

Air mass meter might be needed rather than the current air flow meter? That's an upgrade in it's self

Yup, all lh sensors, there might be some cross over though so worth looking for all the Bosch part numbers, same with injectors

My dad has a F reg. 740 B200 but, without looking, i don't think it's LE so could be LH, if so i can check the numbers off the components on there

The ONLY downside for me with my 360 is fuel efficiency, so LH could make me the perfect car
