Aircon belt removal

Wondering whats involved in removing the aircon drive belt, its winter so i dont really need it connected, and free up a 2 or 3 hp at the next khana-x wont hurt either.

Just loosen the adjuster on the a/c compressor and remove, but why bother, unless the a/c button is pressed, the thing freewheels anyway sapping no power at all!

You should also bear in mind you should be running your a/c for about ten minutes once a week, even in winter just to keep the compressor lubricated properly.
