Hi, just wondered if any V3M members live near Hackney and might be able to view this 340 for me in the next couple of days?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1989-VOLVO-34 ... 6722705584
I have asked the seller if he would hold the car for me for a couple of days subject to the viewing.
I am happy to pay any expenses/petrol costs etc for the trouble and I would be very grateful..
Many thanks.
Jen

It's a Redline special edition, so should be a later 1.7 GL, with added front lip spoiler, rear spoiler, 5 speed box, and the red piping on the bumpers and seats. There is a brochure for them around here somewhere...

Thanks Chris I will have a look and see if I can find the info on it. I love the red line detailing.
I had a very frustrating conversation with someone in the "classic" car trade..I told him about my interest in buying this car and he said that 340/360's will never be collectable and will never have any classic status. I don't agree. He went on to tell me that the 1.4 and 1.7 engines are crap and prone to the head gaskets failing because they are made by renault!
He said I should buy a morris 1000!!
..I decided he should mind his own business!!

Was his name Arthur Daily and did he have a morris 1000 to flog by any chance?
If the insurance policy classes them as a classic then thats good enough for me and my wallet! They're quite collectible, some of us on here have one or two
Never had a head gasket go yet!

Funnily enough he was tryin to flog me a morris 1000 with a bad paint job!!
I said how much cooler the "retro" cars look and that he'd eat his words one day!..obviously he also has no real sense of style.
