Gearbox bracket split!

looks like it alright to weld but looks like aluminium, are they easy to source new ones? anyone know what problems these can cause? car shakes alot when starting up

the x-member or the cup shaped thing with a bush in? I'd have thourght the x-member would be steel but the cup shaped bits are ali and would need to be TIG welded really

Dunno if either are readily available

not available no. 2nd hand or weld. I'm going to try and mig weld mine, I though all I needed was argon + Al wire, havn't tried it yet.

Yeh think i'll just get it welded at work seems the cheapest and quickest option!

Aye if you get the aluminium wire i will work but apparently it's dead tricky welding ali with mig, with the much lower melting point and that. Still probably a lot better than paying someone extortionate money to TIG it up for you!
