Hmm, leather and air con :-) I'd recommend trying to get the fan working for the sale, it's probably just the usual corroded resistor pack ...

Cheers

It's not the resistor pack. I've swapped that out and the known working replacement didn't do the trick. Local garage confirmed the fan motor is fine, but the signal isn't getting to it from the switch.

Selling up because, well, frankly, I'm not using it enough to justify ownership. Just paid for tax, MoT and insurance, and it seems a bit of a waste as the car sits in the garage mostly. I don't use it between October and June at all, and the last few summers have been so wet I've been loathe to take it out at all.

I bought it two years ago as I had some time off work and wanted to teach myself some simple home mechanics/servicing on a simple old car, to give myself some confidence to do it on the main family cars. It has served that purpose well, and I'm now happy working on our other, daily drivers.

So, It'll move to a new home if I can get a decent offer for it.

It's on carandclassic at 2k, I'll listen to offers around £1500 from V300mania folks.

I've got a feeling it won't sell quickly, wolfpack. Keep an eye out and it may well be still for sale in January. Autumn/just before Christmas is a pretty silly time to be trying to sell I expect!

Sold to an enthusiast in Holland for the asking price (£2k). I'm taking it on my last drive to Harwich at the weekend. He'll take it from there and register it in Holland.

Good news. 2400€ is the highest price I've seen paid for a V300 so far, although I'm sure original R-Sports have gone for more.

Cheers

Well the buyer hass written back to me with some photos showing rusty holes around 3 jacking points which weren’t there when I sold it, and asking for £425 of his money back to fix it. I’d told him welding had been done around the jacking points in the past and that they were of a good standard, which I believed to be true. I couldn’t have known there was rust underneath without making holes like he has done.

I’ve told him I'm not giving him any money back. Am I being unreasonable?

No, you're not being unreasonable. Unless you gave him a warranty?

Its an old second hand car. As such I'm sure you were both given to understand that it was sold as seen.

I'm sure you gave him an opportunity to view to his satisfaction before handing over money.

I bought a 360GLT from ChrisC a long while back (for pennies) jacking points looked good, we both thought they were good, but they crumbled under load.
Now thats not his fault. And I certainly dont think he should be expected to shoulder responsibility for repair. That ludicrous.

Asking for money from a seller for repairs long after you've purchased a car is cheeky as fuck in my opinion dude. For seriously,

I personally would'nt pass back any cash at all.
