I think I've seen the same car for sale on Marktplaats before, but for a much higher price. Very unusual for a van to be in such a good condition!

So impractical though, with the high boot lip No wonder it didn't really set the van-world on fire.

Very rare! What a crap van the 300 would make though, rear doors that don't open very far and a really high loading lip. No surprise as to why they're rare...!

I thought they were all vans (given the number of sheds, trees and tables I've carried in mine)

in Holland you were able to have a lower road tax if you removed the rear bench, this is a relatively easy way to build a car that accomodates these demands for such a tax-discount. it did sell quite well back in the days, but company cars tend to wear out sooner so not much of them left

I think we would have seen more here if the van version had been made of the estate prototype (which never made it into production), however that rear lip was never going to help either version. I expect the lip is to add strength in an accident. Something that modern cars now don't need now to advances in stengthening in other ways (bonded windows and stronger steel maybe?)
