As promised to dai, I upload some pictures of the process of updating the front and rear suspension 343GLS 1980 B19A engine (single owner).

I've taken some due to problems adjusting the front springs, since they sent me are too short (-0.5) and even keeping the suspension in quick turns tough brushed metal tire on the fender.

material sent by dai ....

Image

elevator car, years ago that the poor did not play with their feet on the ground .....

Image

Image

disassembling the rear brakes, we find the first surprise, are new and changed for years!

Image

front discs are in worse shape.

Image

by caution (damn tuv) had to paint the black springs ....

Image

so once assembled all the material provided by dai, play me if was able to test and adjust the hardness of the shock absorbers.

Image

Problem 0. still touching the car in turns!! (Height 58cm).

Image

Image

I had to find a manufacturer of springs that make two units to my specifications and park the project for later. We also realized that I had messed up the exhaust.

Image

Once made the springs and the exhaust was the turn back to the shop to the front suspension and desmontasen montasen my springs and exhaust.

Problem 1. could not compress the springs enough to mount, so that it must cut a little.

Image

Problem 2. Once cut and assembled, the increased headroom but unfortunately was buzzing cushion extension and down or the weight of the vehicle. Back to disassemble everything and mechanics face looking at me with hatred and, lucky we have friendship, if not ....

Problem 3. relocated staples to hold the springs and tighten. finally decided to cut the springs so that they could be mounted without the use of staples, in order not to have the extension stop buffer.

now finally works as it should (height 61cm) and have to say that the front and rear shocks work perfectly (thanks dai).

Image

unsolved problem. I found that a motor carrier is in poor condition, anyone know where I can get it?

I hope to keep this forum a while (before only as a reader and will now also participating).

regards

A picture of the "motor carrier" would help identify it.

That looks like a superb car. I've never seen pictures of a Mk1 S model in white.

Have you got any pictures from the front?

Cheers

Thank you for saring your photos. You have a very nice car there. :D

Very strange that 50mm lowering springs should cause the tyre to rub. 75mm springs will with some tyre sizes but a tweak to the body area that it rubs against cures the problem. Is the spring seat positioned lower on that age car?

The motor mounts is it the part that is being discussed in this link here http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... 4&start=30

I too was surprised that friction, and knowing that there are people who even-mounted 75mm. to buy back the car was delivered with 185/70-13.

The engine mount I need is on the right of this picture (the rubber)

The front, back suspension and brakes/guards/calipers look like new. Is this what Spanish cars are like normally?

the truth is that it is normal as the people here are very careless with cars, even those we care, we do reasonably well. it is also true that this car has aged very well

Ah ... R-Sport-Style :-)

That reminds me, I have seen a Mk1 343 S car in white before. But it was very rusty and dirty, not like yours!

Cheers
