300 Rear arch repair section

Post by SteveP »

I've seen these available on ebay..wondered if the seller was lurking here somewhere? Can't remember the name now

Wanted passenger side rear wheel arch repair section. Or a picture of one so I know what area it covers maybe :)

I seem to think it was VolvoVince that was selling these mate. Not sure they cover all of the required area normally, might be wrong. Another option, as I was going to do, is to find a scrap car with a decent section, cut it out and have it welded in. VolvoVince's were cheap though, so to save the hassle it may be worth it if he has any left.

Or cut the metal back and glass it up. After seeing whats happened to Beast after a 'pro' tried putting one of these bits in, I like the idea of glass more and more. Just get out the black as well as brown rust first.

Yes, it was Volvo Vince.

Whatever you do, I'd take it to a pro. It's so hard to do that stuff well. I've been doing minor rust repairs for years, and I still struggle to get a decent finish. Time to invest in more grades of sandpaper I guess :)

cheers

Indeed, that what I was planning really. If I'm spending money on the beast, I'd like it to be done properly and not bodged by myself. Let's see how the beast will perform this week - should be doing about 1000 miles :)

VolvoVince still has a pair, £25 each.
