I´m searching for an affordable tow bar to be sent to Germany - would you have one, so please send me info about cost incl. postage.

Thx - Cheers - Robert ( from Nürnberg Germany)

If Tom doesn't have one, then I might have a spare somewhere.

Let me find it first. Then I can work out if it's the correct one. I did not personally remove it from a car, so I can only say it was a V300 one because I was told. If it is the correct type, I can then weigh it. I will report back later today.

First, have you asked Tom (trabitom99) if he still has his for sale?....

I dug mine out today and I've identified it as a OEM Volvo / Tobo bar for a hatchback, however, I see two problems.....

1st problem: The ID/Weight plate is missing. Wouldn't matter here, but may be an issue in Germany for the TuV?

It is stamped with the Deutsches Prufzeichen ~~~M4305 (German Approval No.)

2nd problem: The two reinforcement plates that go inside the boot floor are missing. Simple enough to cut, bend and drill, but they've gone missing (before I got it, I don't remember being given them)

(2 x angled plate as in box 13)

3rd problem: It is minus full wiring, relay and nuts/bolts/washers.

4th problem: Weighty and I'm in Ireland. Might be reasonable to ship. Not really worth investigating at this stage, but I might be able to do as checked baggage to Munich next month, but then there's the small problem of getting from Munich to you.

Nothing major, but the first one might be the deal breaker.

Volvo Blue Leaflet: http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... =37&t=3833
New Old Stock: http://link.marktplaats.nl/652036602 (you can see the boot plates bolted to the right arm.)

I'm happy if someone wants it as I prefer flanged towbars (so I can have something to attach a Bradley Flipper cover to

Thought you did Tom, as you are good at updating old posts when you've flogged something.

Out of interest, do you need the data plate for the TuV? Or would the German approval stamp suffice?

I think you'd need the data plate too. There are details on there which are important to a policeman checking whether your towing setup is legal ...

Cheers

Here're the dimensions we talked about Rich:

I need to dash ... but I'll edit this post some time to jot down the dimensions (so people don't have to read my scrawl)...

Cheers

Many thanks Tom. Handily they are stamped for left and right.
