Hi Niminz, I have added some info on the 480 forum, here it is copied below...
Right, I emailed Chris at York Raceway, and he said he just needs to know numbers a few of weeks before the 26th so can allocate a pitting area.
Prices are as follows, all in pounds sorry no pounds sterling symbol on my keyboard....at least not that I can find...
Admission:
Adult: 12.50 (one day) 20 (two days)
Teen 13 yrs to 16 yrs: 7.50 (one day) 10 (two days)
Accompanied child 12 & under: free
Camping...opens at 6 pm:
Adult: 5 (one night) 10 (two nights)
Teens & children: free
RWYB track fees:
One day of runs is 30, two days is 50
So, a days racing for one person would be 42.50, or 80 quid for two days with camping. I asked Chris how many runs you would get per day and he thought at least 15 if you got up early and stayed late. According to the website there is a rough surface on the 'launch area' so no need to worry about rain!
They also have fees for trade pitches if anyone is interested....car boot sale maybe?? lol
More useful info below...

I'd be up for coming, can't say for definate yet but should be ok. Would be great to see some 300's there, not that i don't rather like 480's

no pressure I will be going anyway, even if on my jack, would be nice to get some Volvos along of any sort!
and there shouldn't be any mis-matches of bhp either as they have different classes - for example my 460 would be in category 'T', and Chris' Fake with the F7R motah will be category 'C'
example of results for class 'T':

http://www.yorkdragway.org/results.pl?d ... catagory=U
oh dear I wonder if I get a prize for smallest engine and turbo in class

bus fare home maybe. 22 cc's less and it would be a class B...

So, I went to down to York last Sunday and managed a 16.04 as my best time...some videos below....

It's an auto btw....graceful, no? I may even attempt to spin the wheels next time lol
Some other chaps were down there from the VPC forum with 850 R's and T5 etc. A good day was had by all, except for my speedo, which now doesn't read above 20 mph

16.04 isn't a bad time at all for a first go chap

Nice one

Would be dead happy with that time - what's the spec on the car?

Thanks gents! Yes I walked away happy although I was thinking about your 15.7 sec run Chris

. I honestly don't think my V70R could do much better that what the 460 managed!
After the 16.04 run I tried one more but bogged it away from the start and thought "that's enough for today" - it was warm and I was worried I would cook the auto fluid although water temperature didn't climb too high, even when sat in the queue.........probably cos I had the heater on full just in case

. The heat coming out of the open window was commented on by one of the marshalls who leaned in to talk to me

. Five runs in total - addicted now!
As you can probably see from one of the videos I wasn't trying any fancy starts i.e. using my left foot for the brake and revving it up to 4k etc. So I hope I wasn't being too hard on the old girl. 21 years ago she could only do this in 16.6 secs......speaking of which.........
The car is a 1.7 turbo B18FT engine with an ECU modified by a guy named Robou over on the 480 Club Europe forum. Otherwise it's standard although rumoured to have 170/180 hp and 250 Nm. I hope this is useful info for any of you 300-series guys thinking about conversion.

Hehe, I didn't realise you had an R. Well, it gives me an excuse to dig out my favourite "owning Foggy" picture...

Click for bigger if you can't see the cars. That is FoggyJames' V70R and Fake, I don't have a huge trap speed, about 86, but get a very good launch normally. Foggy's V70R was the opposite, he couldn't get any grip on the launch, but then would come barrelling up behind me when the thing spooled to cross the line nearly 10mph faster. It's an interesting combination to run together.
What colour ECU do you have in that one? I still have the Richmod ECU here, would be super interesting to see how it compares to a Robou one. Are you coming to the National this weekend?

lol I wasn't trying to set anyone up there sorry Foggy. Yes got an R but it is AWD so shouldn't have any trouble with taking off. Slower through the gears than the FWD cars so I have heard.
I'm back at work now mate so the nearest I get to Volvos is typing this, so I won't make it to any events for a while. But certainly you can have a try if we can get car and computer together somehow. In the 460 is a red stickered ECU although I am trying to sell it on eBay, I also have a one with a blue sticker in another car.

Genuinely impressed with that time, with all the 300 series love about there and them going for crazy money, I've recently been thinking a really tidy 460 turbo on the 14" Vega's would be great. I've seen a black one owned by someone on the VOC forum and it looks pretty smart!
About the times above, I think what was even more unsuspected was Max's 740 turbo with M90 and chipped ECU running (I believe) a 14.9 by Chesh. Great jelly suspension and RWD perfect for launch

lol jelly suspension, check! Thanks very much
Like I said that 460 is on eBay if you want it just give me a shout (but don't tell any of the 300-series lads you are defecting to FWD)
edit: forgot to add it is an auto, some people don't like them
