Throttle/Accelerator cable for '79 car

I'm looking for a replacement throttle cable for my '79, as the operation of the accelerator is very jerky making it very hard to do gentle movements. I have a couple of spare short throttle cables for later cars, but I need a long one for early cars, must be about 50-60cm at a guess. I'm not sure when the length changed, but I'm guessing 1981MY onwards when the new air filter was fitted.

Thanks,

Sion

That may be a tricky find, surely you could remove it and get a cable manufacturer to make one up?

You'll need 3296035, this cable was in use until ch 545499 (the last car of MY'80).
Have you tried Speedograph Richfield or the Volvo dealer look-up?
I'll have a look over the weekend to see if I got one "by accident".

Thanks RJ, much appreciated. What do you mean by 'Volvo dealer look-up'?

Hi Sion.
I have a couple of the short ones. Why are they different?
Cheers Mark.

On 76-80MY cars, those with the cilyndrical air filter, the mechanism to which the accelerator cable attaches is on top of the cilynder head:

The shorter ones for MY81 onwards cars just don't reach that far!
