Had a look through the notes from my cars recent MOT, and there is an advisory for stabiliser bushes. Does anyone know where these are? I've noticed a kind of clicking sound too when turning the wheel when parking etc. Related?? Any ideas??

Sounds like anti-roll bar bushes maybe?

Thats what i thought. Just bever heard of anything called that before.

I think its the top arm on the rear axle? I cant think of anything else.

It will be the anti roll bar bushes they're on about, some people refer to it as a stabaliser as well.

Word of advice is to replace all 4 bushes at the same time which are the ones at both radius arms and the 2 for the mounting points. This is only some advice because if you have to replace the mounting ones at a later date you have to take the roll bar off again to be able to slide the new mounting bushes in place. They have a split in them which makes it tempting to just open them up and put them on the bar but this is not advised because you can cause premature wear on them if thay have been stretched open, they are made to be slid on to the bar. Doing all of them at the same time eliminates having to disassemble the roll bar again.

The knocking noise can easily be caused by these bushes being worn out and once replaced the noise should be gone. What is happening is the roll bar is moving around when it should be firm. Another noticeable problem with worn bushes is that if they're really badly worn it can cause the vehicle to wander.

Thanks for the advise. So are the 4 bushes all the same? Are these the same as the ones Classicswede sells?

The 2 for the front of the roll bar are different to the ones for the mounting points.
Not sure if they are the ones Classicswede sells, not looked! Best to ask him.
