Hi guys i need two new front wings 1989 Mk 3 340, especially drivers side, however if two in the right colour are good enough i would be interested!! Does anyone know of a 3door in the same colour as mine in a scrappy? Colour code is 228-5

i think 3, 4 and 5 door cars all have the same front wings..

oh oh Adam are you trying to tell us something , Like a little prang perhaps ?

I might well do... assuming 5 door cars have the same wings? its certainly grey and I'm pretty sure its non-metallic, I'd have to check the colour code... where abouts on the car is it printed?

it's on the plate under the bonnet, along with chasis and vin numbers IIRC

As a guide Steve, it's where yours probably says 305.

VADIS says all post 86 wings are the same....surprise surprise

I'll go for a look tomorrow afternoon...as the 340 in question is likely to leave the yard soon, after stripping some parts off the beige thing...

Any clues how they fix on? A few bolts along the top under the bonnet, and under the wheel arches I think??

It's a right PITA actually....there are bolts along the top, around the wheel arch, behind the bumper (hell yeah!) and my favourites...in the gap between the front door and the wing. Get ready to take the stop-strap off to get the door open wider. Not so bad on a scrapper, but hard not to damage the paint on a 'good' car - you'll see what I mean!

Yeah, I'll second the door check stay part! If that's removed, with an extension you can just about get some grip to undo them! Not easy, bolts everywhere!

No Prang mick just rot getting worse!!! Remember the drivers front wing? I remember talking to V6 man at the Milton Keynes meet!!! And yeh front wings are the same, but if its a 3 door i want drivers door also as mine is starting to go in the bottom corner, oh and a tailgate if its good around the catch especially!!!
No guys the reason for asking is if i cant find some front wings i will get new ones!! Just at £50 a piece plus spraying, it starts to get pricey!!!

It's cheap for new panels...

Where have they rotted? Mine started to go a *little* on the drivers side behind the wheel, but it was very easily controlled. Now the doors...that's a different story!

They certainly are, especially at trade price!!!
Wing has gone top half of the outer arch around bolt holes mainly!!
Drivers door has gone in very bottom right hand corner!!!
