the new alloys are shod with 165/65/r14 tyres , just wondered what sort of pressure I should be running them at ?

Hmm, 165/65/14 is really the wrong size for our cars, and your speedo will therefore be out by a few mph. The correct size is either 175/65/14 or 185/60/14, although having just used the 'tyre size calculator' on Rochford Tyres, the difference is about 1mph so ignore all my previous ramblings.
Anyway IMO just run the standard pressures of 27 at front and 30 at back.

Seconded
As far as I'm aware, you only need to up the pressures when you're (say) sub 50 profile. I could probably do with adding a little to mine...say 3-5psi.

I normally use between 33-36psi for normal driving, 38 for long trips, and 25-28 for my racing (205/40R15 both front and back)
