Hi there,
I have a really worry question.
Ok i have a volvo 360GLE from 1985 with B200E engine and it has ignition component renix s100600405 (RE 405) the problem is that it component is not working good becouse some times the car does not start until i move the plug wires that goes to component ignition. the resine of component is on part off and i can see some part of the map it was like this when I bought it. Now i want to buy another ignition component but i cant find re405 and somene offer me ignition componet of siemens brand but is s101900415 (i think re415).

the question is, can i replace s101900415 instead of s100600405??? the car will be work fine or not???

Really thanks for your answears

The ignition module is very reliable, if you have starting problems its more likely the coil, the computer will either work or not. Try cleaning the coil first by removing it and cleaning with white spirit or petrol.

If you really need the computer check your owners manual, it will show the different modules and the ignition advance. I might have a 405, will check.

The 415 is for the 1.7, a very different engine, but I've no idea if the map is ok or not, I'd tend to go with not ok.

I have a 406 and 414 for high compression B200K's

405 seems to be for high compression B200E, different cam mainly to B200K (fuel system doesn't matter). You could use a 408 apparently, (eliminating the mechanical rpm limiter in the rotor arm). The 406 and 414 would be close I think, 414 is later for lower octane use (but not low compression) I think. The 405 will give you the most power, but you might need octane booster.

I'm sorry , but I not mentioned that I'm beginner. the issue is that part of the circuit was broken and i solder a small wire to work. But as I said I still have the problem that sometimes my car not start until i move plug wires. I will try to clean the coil as ride_on says . i buyed the car second-hand and do not have the manual.

PD so witch ignition module can be the replace ?? :( :(

I think the 414 does all 360s.
