Leaking coolant where heater pipe meets water pump

Post by Spepper24 »

Hey guys,

I've sprung a leak. It's coming from a joint where the heater return meets the water pump. The pipe is steel and I can't tell whether it's a threaded connection or a solder or possibly push in and o-ring seal?? Any ideas? Stop leak has stopped it leaking on idle and low revs but still leaks at higher rpm. Anybody pulled one off before and know what connection it is? It's my daily so would like to know so I can be prepared. The water pump gasket looks ok it is definitely coming from the steel pipe in the photo

Its a push-in, oval or square section O-ring. The pipe might be rusted.

It bolts to the block down below somewhere on a welded flap thing, undo that, maybe remove from the heater pipe at the back and it should pull out.

Got it out, making repairs will post updates. Like Ride_on said push fit with oring. Pipe section oring sits on has worn away

All fixed. Machines a new end peice and welded it to the existing pipe. O-rings were ok, could have replaced but didn't have any that section, seals fine, mission to get on again behind the exhaust manifold but managed.
