Hello!

I'm going to buy a music system for my car tomorrow. Its a pack with everything i need.

Ok here's the q:

How do i install a + cable from the battery and to the amp? I will have the cable, but have no idea how im going to get it from the + on my battery and all the way into the back of the backseat. I heard something about a hole in the wall between the motor room and the "cockpit":P But how do i access this hole/where is it, and where can i receive it at the other side of the 'wall'?

And one more: The - cable, where can i connect that? Where is the most accessable point from the backseat?

The last one: Where is the most common place to fasten the amplifier?Do i need a piece of wood to have between the amp and the "floor"?

BTW it would been very nice with some pics, if someone got!

If you look in the engine bay there should be a hole with rubber around it, there should already be some wires going through there, inside the car remove the carpet inside the footwell ( 4 plastic plugs just lever them out with a screwdriver) you should then be able to look upwards and see where the cable has come through, then remove the screws on the sill plate, you can then run the cable down the side of the car, you may need to remove more screws and bits of plastic to get the cable past other things and then under the rear seats to the boot.
You should be able to find somewhere under the boot carpet to put the earth cable to and bolt which goes to the body. If your using a sub woofer then you may be best mounting the amp to the box just by screwing it on, if not then you could use velcro to stick it to the carpet so it doesn't slide around,

just wondering.. if i connect the minus cable to the body, what happens if i touch the unisolated body parts when the stereo is on full power? its about 50A thats doing their daily routine for me

am i getting shocked, or what will happen? is it 100% safe? and where's the most common place to fasten the minus?

Nah connecting the -ve to the body should be fine there should be a screw somewhere under the carpet in the boot that you can attatch it to, the power is going to the amp and not back through the -ve wire if you see what I mean so its definately safe,

My earth is attached to the rear light cluster, I have my amp mounted in the boot 'cubby-hole'





Ali's right, having just the minus on teh car body is completely safe as long as the minus from the battery goes to the body too (which all 300's should)[/list]

Yeah, problem I have is during summer, full power through the amp gets very hot very quickly, but I have a tempory solution (a fan) and a much better long term solution in the pipeline! You need a cover of some kind really, I got paranoid of people looking at it as I was loading shopping, but then it was just after I had my stereo nicked!
