I need a new clutch for my newly bought 340, just wondered what the cost of a stock and uprated clutch plate would be? and how big of a job is it to change??

thanks

You can get a black diamond uprated one for £136 delivered from here:

http://www.needforspeed.co.uk/pages/sbv ... Type=CBD01

but I wouldn't think its worthwhile unless your giving it some serious clutch kicking abuse and even then a new standard one will probably do, just try Volvo dealer and your nearest parts place, James talked about one going for £25 delivered on ebay the other day but can't see any on there at the moment, no idea how hard to fit they are i'm afraid,

There are two different types for the 1.7.

The kit is very different. I have the fine spline version at home as it was wrong for mine.

so is there any way i can tell which i need without taking it apart?

I'm not sure, I think it is an age thing.
Mine acording to the book is supposed to have the later type fine spling (89 model) but it had the older set up.

No sure if I'm correct here as my car is the only 1.7 clutch I have done.

Every cloud, eh? ;)

Sorry to hear about that mate...it's always a shame when a unique car is damaged beyond repair...unless it's Barryboys material :)

cheers

I agree as long as your not classing my ex prelude to be barry boys materail... it would have to be a bad attempt at modding a car, seen as i do it as a living mine isnt, it was just a lip kit anyway (although the spoiler was a bit much).

But hey I own a volvo 340 as well as a Jap modified car. I dont sit in any one corner.

and with re to the pm, he didnt really send me one,Lol
