Hello again, I know I've been posting new threads alot but I really need some help.

I'm finding seperating the top nut ont the strut impossible, I've smashed 2 spanners today.

How difficult should this be, its the nut that you have to lock ant then turn the tread with another spanner.

Please help!!!

Is this the nut right at the very top of the strut under the bonnet. The nut I am thinking of is on the top of the shock absorber rod. The top of the rod is flattened on two sides so it can be held with a small spanner while the nut is undone. It should not be dreadfully tight unless someone has used an airtool or a setting threadlock!

Thats the bugger, I'm a strong bloke but for love now money I can't get this undone, It's so bloody tight!!!!

So whats the consensus, take it to a garage and let them undo it?

I think I may have to resort to this which is an arse really.

hi if you have some good mole grips you can hold the shock in between the springs....under the dust cover and then undo the nut

The only way to do it is with an air impacter. If you nip down your local garage they should be able to loosen it for you.
