Just a thought

has anybody on here de-handled / de-locked a 300?
I've done a little (very little, less than a minute) bit of photoshopping on one of the pics from this site to see how it would look, and I'm fairly impressed with the result, especially seen as though my handle on the driver side has started to feel unnervingly loose and a new one looks like it could soon be necessary.

But having seen the effect that this gives, I may just do this.
My questions to anyone who has done this are
1) is it as straight forward as, say, fixing a rust hole (back plate, filler and sanding) as I've done this many times in the past (I used to have a nova, but i never inhaled!).
And also,
2) how did you get in to the car? did you use a full keyless entry system? or did you use remote c/locking and a TVR style button under the wing mirror?

Here's the picture anyway http://www.dkirkham.myby.co.uk/delocked.jpg

the guy who's selling his 360 has it de-locked. i think it would be a LOT of work to do it though, as you'd have to re-route the cabling and stuff for the lock..

member 100? go me!

to be honest, I don't have a problem with a bit of re-wiring, I was thinking of just using a switch/relay to actuate a solenoid to open the door, I know that you can get remote kits quite cheap (like under £40) and seeing as I'm gonna be doing some work on the locks anyway... I definately like the look of it.
Do you know how the guy that's selling his 360 opens it?

Al just fitted a rear handle to the front = easy! You have to cut a bit of metal, but its not a tough job what what I understand. De-handling...well yeah, if that floats your boat its just like filling a big rust hole!

i think it'd be hard to make it look good thou - ie smooth out the join from the new panel to the door. may be wrong mind

As with all bodywork stuff, how good it looks depends on how long you spend on it. Sadly I get bored too quickly!!
