What should I build?

Post by classicswede »

I cant fully make my mind up what to do with my saloon.
I've already done the track car with Vickys so i want to do something different. I toying along the lines of a drift car or a rally car.
The drift car would be good fun but a pain for my 90 mile round trip to work. A rally car set up would be great for the local roads here. My third option is to build a custom but I cant see me having the time to do it :(

What do you think???

Fully stripped out rally saloon, you know it makes sense!
but realistically, if you do a Rally setup you're only a quick blast of oxy acetylene from a drift car aren't you?

I'd go for rally car, it can be made so its useable for a daily driver and there are plenty of other drift projects going on at the moment - so it'll be a refreshing change :)

Rally is the way forward, just if you are actually going to rally it, check the blue book, it's surprising how much you can't do :( Kar's technically not legit for rallying

You are the developer of parts, and drift cars seem to be popular :)

But on the otherhand, the locked diff, essential for driffting, isn't going to make a good daily driver. A rally car may be more friendly, and will be far more unique, as there are getting a few too many drifters here. ;)

Also as you say, for boming arround counry lanes, a rally car is going to be ideal. It may be better than Vickys as I discovered leaving the scrapyard at Ludlow, it was kinda bumpy :P Supurb on the flat roads though

It gets my vote :)

Vickies car was bumpy because of 40mph up the scrapyard drive full of pot holes and stiff suspension

Rally cars aren't supposed to be comfortable anyway ;)
