door cards

Post by schakal »

i am sorry for the cheek but got carried away with the levels of hospitality in here . i know this is a volvo forum but i happen to own a renault 9 ,my apologies once more.

i want to spice up my door cards a bit after changing the seats with 16v buckets (black/grey with red stripes )
the door cards are all knackard and i want to peel the old cloth of them and put some leather look stuff on there . had a look on ebay but cant really figure out what to search for ??
any ideas would be much appreciated

Looks pretty much the same chap. I use a similar sort of glue, but in industrial quantities and cannisters, the things to watch are that you apply enough to the porus surface first and make sure it has plenty of time to let the vapours escape, it seems odd but allow them to dry well before putting them together. In all honesty the bond contact adhesives such as these produce are not fantastic, in heat, or sunlight the glue is softened and can peel, but if the material you have is fairly flat and rigid this will be ideal. Laminates can peel with this spray glue, but I was tempted to buy some leather effect panels on a thick backing recently. The leatherette material you've found looks nice, and it's inspired me to persue an idea I had the other day! Good luck mate, be sure to provide some pics.
