Some photos of my 340 - new on pag 2

Post by 340cbr »

Some photos that I took today

I have lowered it.. not much on the back, and a little more on the front.

Here is a photo from the back lowering blocks

Image

But... does this car looks lowered on the front to you?

Maybe it is because it's the first day that it is rolling... maybe he haven't lowered everything yet.

Next.. I have found a mk2 GLT grill for the front... it looks very good:

And now the interior with the 440 steering whell

Looking good! What are the 700 back window switches powering? Electric rear windows? And how does teh 400 wheel fit? Is it on the same size splines?

The old window switches were with back look, and someone offered this one to me... For now tha back switches aren't doing anything...

The 400 steerinh wheel, fits ok, just have to cut the little piece that "cancels" the... (don't remember the name...).. side repeaters?!

If I hadn't seen it I wouldn't have been convinced about that 400 steering wheel style, the 480 maybe, but that looks good in reality! Good stuff, I've been tempted to fit my Mk2 GLT grille, but have never got around to it.

Well... Today I've done 200kms in the car, at the end of the day have gone to a park to enjoy a liitle bit.

Tha car suspension it's a mess. I'll kill the mechanic.

I've spoke to him, to recharge the shocks, but they are the same thing or even worst..

Don't know what to do.

It's so bad that the front tires touch in the interior of the wheel arch when cornering

Ouch, not good mate! My tyres are very close for clearance on the front as a stock GLT suspension with 15" rims with the correct tyres to keep the right rolling diameter. So........ this makes me a tad weary of messing with the suspension too much tbh. Hope you get it sorted mate.

On those wheels you should be on the bumpstops before the wheel touches the arch, i'm on 185/60s on the same alloys and its been fine, hope you get it sorted,
cheers

Pete - I can't see you having any clearance issues. If its rubbing the inner arches on cornering, the shocks must be worn - I noticed my black car had scrape marks in the inner arches from the tyre touching. Uprated suspension would lessen this fact as there wouldn't be so much bodyroll in cornering.

hmmm i've not had any scraping at all, is it actually possible with the right size wheels or is it more to do with width? With 195/50/R15s you should have the same rolling radius so therefore i'd expect you'd hit the bump stops before anything touches?

I have 195/60 R 14 tyres... They come with the rims so I'm using it... Have some 185/60 in the garage already to put in it.

Maybe this make some difference, but even with 185/60 the roll will be the same...
