well i am knackered..... i have just replaced the rear wheel bearing in the volvo its not a job that i like doing, each time they seem to get harder and harder
the hardest part is draging the inner flange off......with a good puller this part took over an hour the flange is tight all the way off .....because volvo thought it a good idea as well as tighten it up tight use locktight
well after 3 days its done....and sounds nice now, BUT how many have been scrapped because of probably the worst job possible
IM OFF TO BED FROR SOME REST

sm89 Well done mate. I took the easy option and replaced the complete axle. I need to rebuild the original with the new bearings I have as part of the big picture.

Yeah, we've got very bent puller that only just about stood up to the task.

Incidentally. after I put it all back together I didn't use Loctite. Occasionally I would hear a graunching noise pulling off as though the gear was moving in the hub. So I took it all apart again, much more easily and Loctited it properly.

You're right though, not an easy job and pushed all the tools to the limit. The puller isn't useable again :)
