Congratulations Finland

Post by Cornholio »

With the (relative) profusion of Finnish members on this forum, it only seems right to send congratulations for their Eurovision win :D

Not that I watched it

Oh no, our band had a booking on Saturday night, although our backing singer did confess that it was the first one she'd missed in fifteen years :?

We are best

But is it funny that Finland has placed last almost every year (what 40 years?) and all of sudden wins.

But I really am afraid what will come from this, already I have read that enxt competition will be held in Finland even there is no money available for it, however some big boss did say that they take money from traffic ministry, that is so typical, traffic is here heavily taxed and commonly used for extra funding and raising traffic costs even more.

I really like that we won, but it is this consequences that I'm not too sure of, after all we may have even less smart politics than USA :P

I like also that all those clones (other Eurovision competitiors) got beaten so perhaps now we slowly can get less of those kind of music, I'm not too big fan of those typical Eurovision songs, always reminds me from ren&stimpy 'happy happy joy joy' :)

So, I did follow Eurovision, but this was really exception :P

However I'm not big fan of music that Lordi plays either, just this rebel thing again

Oh yes, some finnish guy did place bet of 5000€ few weeks before this contest and did collect little less that 400 000€ from victory, crazy people :D

Good effort to Finland indeed, makes a change for something different to come into Eurovision. And unlucky on having to host it next year, it's like the olympics, you're not supposed to make money from it :(

should have asked me, It was never in doubt from their first qualifying gig, Lordi where without doubt the most entertaining act on their, if not for musical merit (and they all seemed to be miming correctly!), then certainly for comedic value!

for anyone that missed it, here you go
