Chris' Lake District Trip

Post by Chris_C »

As some of you know, to celebrate my results last week, and the fact Uni is over (well.. apart from I've signed up to do another 3 years   ) I took Kate and Fake on holiday last week.

I had a grand time, was a bit norf for my liking, although there are some great roads up there (getting up to 1 in 4 gradients at points, glad I had Fake and not Kar...)

Went round as many yellow roads as could be found looking for the unspoilt views, and there are plently to be found, and also went to a couple of aquariums, and a Cars of the Stars place, where cars from films are collected, which ment I got to meet KITT!!! I'VE TOUCHED KITT!!! The goldeneye DB5 was there as well, so I was chuffed, as was the A team van, the back to the future Deloren and a load of others.

Anyway, a few (ok, quiet a few, sorry!) pics!

Well done on Uni mate! Looks like you had a grand time. The last picture looks ace, and the sunset over Windermere. It really is a nice place to go, I wish I'd spent longer there when I went, as even about a week wasn't long enough to see much of it! The great thing is there is so much that is unspoilt. There are indeed some steep bits Chris, the gated roads were the most annoying bits, keep stopping to open and close gates. The water falls are the best bits and most amazing, I forget the names of the places I saw them now!

Great pics, looks like you had a grand time :)

Agreed, the last pic is ace. Pesonally I'd crop the bottom so you can just see the edge of the grass, the stones are distracting, and then that's a stunning pic, perfect cover material :)

Looks like a fantastic place. Don't think I could live there, too damn quiet, but to visit and hear 'silence' is an amazing experience. Great piccies too. I'm with MJ, a slight croppage on the piccy and jobs a good'un.

Cheers all ;) (or :P if you are Mick!!!) Pete, you're right, the waterfalls are pretty cool, and the gated roads are just funny! So different to anything down here though, and just what was needed! Just mind the stray sheep

Also found out since I put that post up that I've got a scholarship for my PhD, so the Uni is paying me to do it now!!! Woohoo!!!

Congrats Chris, really good news :)

But however, I'm very disappointed, where is pic of KITT, one where Kate is lposing on hood

Anyway nice scenery there, also very good pics, you sure you are not going to be photographer? ;) :D

I guess this is closest to KITT I can get :P

Had chance to see KITT when I was kid, but instead we went to see some stupid Peugeot prototype, 198X something...

I would have loved to have taken some pics of KITT, but no photos were allowed in that museum, a load of the cars were still under copyrights... and they were a tad stressed about it :(

I do love photography, currently saving for a better camera, as the one that took those pics was one of the first sub £100 2 megapixel ones. Its great as long as you don't want to play with things too much, but I like playing!!!

Oh darn, those copyright things make life just so difficult sometimes, need to sneak there some day

I have 1,3Mpixel videocamera that can take still photos, I kind of know your feeling, photos are quite small, also far objects are not so detailed, also quite lot of noise, specially at dark. That makes playing bit difficult, I don't have even flash, lol.
