My new daily driver, warning: not 300!

Well for a few weeks i've been trying to sort out a new daily drive as the 360 is too impractical now. Went to a car auction last night and ended up with this for the total sum of..........

.... £520!!!! Granted its the base model but the price makes up for it! 105k on the clock no tax and just over 1 month MOT left. Just cleaned it up this morning and can't fault it so far, still preparing for everything to break at this price though! The really really annoying thing is when we looked at the car it didn't have that dent in the rear quarter, bid on it and won it, then went to see the car 10mins later parked up round the back and that dent was there! Had a go at the drivers and they all just claimed it wasn't them so nothing I could do :( Its not a sharp dent though so hopefully I can pull it back out! Going to give it a service and hope it turns out as good as first impressions,

cheers

Ali

(ps the chav spec alloys aren't staying and it needs a boot spoiler!)

Looks a bargain to me, I still reckon you only bought it for the chav rims though

Haha, funny Ali, you just put those wheels to other car, right? ;)
Really nice polishing there, looks totally new now and I'm sure price is now over 1000 already :D

yup, 4x108 iirc. You can't argue with that for £520, i presume it's the 1600?

same colour as me old man's (pacific blue)

I'd be tempted to keep the wheels if the tread is any good, you may not get a huge amount for them on the 'bay, and as you said, if you're just waiting for your feet to fall through the floorpan, they may add resale value should the MOT throw anything major up.

I think the only thing to go wrong on my dad's was the ABS computer failing

does poverty spec even come with buttons for the front windows??

i quite like the s40, my dad's late v40 is nice, but a bit cramped feeling for me - i am a lanky fooker though :)

Volvo has that PCD because Mitsubishi has too and S/V40 shares some stuff with that ;)

I forgot 'did' word from my earlier post changes a bit...

1800cc powah!! 115bhp and 6800rpm, not that i'll be doing that as I really don't trust the car at all yet! Poverty spec is pretty good actually, electric mirrors and windows and remote central locking. Only things that seem to make it poverty spec are the low spec headunit and interior and a few extras like the onboard computer and cruise control. Not sure if the car is pre-wiring for any of these extra's though!? Oh and the small lever next to the handbrake is for the seat height adjustment. Push it down to move the height of the front of the seat and pull it up to adjust the height of the back of the seat, *enter pimp mode - yanks mini handbrake*
