parts urgently required

Post by morgan105 »

Hi all,
Is there anyone out there that has the following items for a 1989 340:

O/S WING MIRROR
O/S/F DOOR GLASS (5 DOOR)
N/S/F HEADLIGHT

If anyone has them all could you please give me a total price including delivery, or if you live local to the Wirral I may be able to collect.
The car was involved in a accident and I need to get it back on the road ASAP.

Many thanks,

stevep is probably your best bet, as all parts are common and he's breaking some 360s at the moment. i'm sure he'll be along shortly

Cheers Slab for the quick reply, it's good to know that parts like that are common and should be easy to obtain.

Many thanks,

I think Hugh meant petefarrel360, I don't have any of the above at the moment. Forgive him, i'm still jelous of his Mondeo...

You might want to check if your glass is tinted, as different models had tinted glass, ie. earlier DL spec models didn't

Thanks guys!

The glass is now sorted but I still need the O/S wing mirror and a N/S headlight, so if anyone has these 2 items for sale it would be great.

Thanks again,

I'm sure I can sort you out with those! I'm assuming your mirror is a manual one and you'll need the entire light unit, including indicator, as they do come apart to make two units? Shouldn't be a problem.

Hi Pete, the mirror is the manual type and need the complete unit. As for the headlamp it is only the headlamp that has been smashed, the indicator is not even marked, but it looks like it is a seperate unit from the indicator but haven't taken it apart yet to see how it fits in so i'll take your word for it that they are connected but do seperate. How much are you asking for them, including postage?
Many thanks,

Thanks to everyone!!!

Pete has the parts I need :D and will be getting them off him shortly.

Got some other bits to sort out on the car in the meantime, bit of paint, bit of bodywork but this is one volvo that is not going to the scrapman yet (Long Live The 340 & 360). These really are tough little cars, considering this one decided to sprout wings and fly through the air and flip over my dad got out completly unharmed not even a scratch or bruise, and to look at the car and what had actually happened it to is in incredible shape considering. If it was any other make of car I don't like to think what would have happened to him, he's 78 and just climbed out of it and all he was worried about was his car (now that's dedication for you), other cars just don't compare. I'm glad my wife drives one as well... I know what car i'll be buying to replace mine when the time comes!

Thank you again and for this wonderful site.
Keep it going!

That's testament to Volvo safety. I'm glad no one was hurt, and to be able to get out unharmed is quite something. I'm pleased it's going to be back on the road soon.

V3M is a fantastic resource, especially now that scrapyards fail to see the need to keep older cars in stock, or retain any parts from them, instead they are crushed on arrival.

I should have the bits in the post to you in the morning mate. Let me know when you get them.
