Hi

Part of the reason I could come to the meet at foggy's house was due to needing to see a 3 door 340 off ebay for a friend

its tidy but its a DL so we're looking for a 5 speed gearbox to swap for the 4 speed.

anyone got one?

cheers

Shimon

Hello Shimon, I don't have one as such, but the famous Looms scrap yard in derby, known to foggy and all midlanders has 3 5 speeders in the yard if that's any good for you?

Shimon, I've got a complete 340 1.7 that I'm looking to get rid of for a fairly low sum - it's got a 5-speed which worked fine on the 250 or so miles I've driven it (car failed MOT on welding). Good body panels too.

I have a spare 5 speed box off a 360 (77k miles). Based in London.

Mornin,

360 box very different. prop/g/box front plate/diff case/mountings all different.

4-5 conversion on B14 needs a B14 or a B172 transaxle complete (diff casings are different 4 & 5). They are a straight swap (see conversion on Varts car). Ideally also grab the little motif disc fron the gear lever knob with the 5speed pattern. If transaxle is from a B172 you can remove the mass damper from the input shaft (but not absolutely nescessary).

Swap proceedure is detailed in a previous thread.

Mac.

What condition is it in, and how much would you want for it?

Shimon, I'm really looking to get rid of the whole car. However, maybe there's someone around who's got the space & expertise to dismantle for parts?

Sorry for the slow reply, by the way - been out organising MOTs & the like...

I would say in fair condition, (worked fine on the car) but there is some light rust on the spline from being in the open air. Not sure what it's worth, £45 sound ok?
