V3M Photo Competition - Round 5 - Industry

Post by d3k4y0 »

Title:
Industry...

Be creative... as long as your car and industry are involved... tis all good.

Everyone has imagination, this competition is here to get you exercising it. Winner of the comp will have the right to claim the title "Almighty Phototaking Dude", until time of the next round, when the title will have to be relenquished, and re fought.

The rules are more or less the same as they have been in other competitions, see below

*Send pictures to photos@dkirkham.com or contact me on MSN and I'll host them on my internets for the voting round.

*One entry per person.

*The photos can be any resolution, I will scale them down to a width of 640 pixels and link them to the full size versions (this is so pictures can be any orientation and any aspect)

*No major photoshopping, If a magazine editor would get away with it, then it's fine (colour levels, balancing, light airbrushing are ok but no sticking photos together and the like)

*Judging: a new thread will be made in General Discussion, vote for whoever you think is the best (be that your own or someone elses)

*Photos don't need to have been taken specifically for this competition, but don't enter ones we've had in other competition

*The photos in this round should be either self taken or contain your car...

*If it's not a 300 or atleast a volvo... it better be a REALLY good shot ;)

Due to the oncoming season I can't decide if the deadline should be before christmas or after so I'll toss a coin...

Tails - New Years Eve

Deadline is 23:59.59 (GMT) on the 31st of December 2006

Good Luck!

Good work Dave, at least I've got a while to have a think about this one!

This is pretty much what I was trying to work towards, you've re-defined it well. As Carl and myself were trying to say, if it's an action shot that you are setting up in your car, or it's not safe and legal for you to take the picture youself, i.e. you're driving, then you really need an assistant! I think some people misunderstood what we were trying to allow, we didn't want people stealing pictures to use, but just trying to make the competition more varied and open to more ideas!

Good luck everyone, should be interesting.

Hmm interesting, haven't really got any excuse not to enter this one :) I think the extra time is better, more competition entries for the win...

Don't be hard on yourself, it's not as if I added that point after you asked your question, just to make it look as though I'd not forgotten anything...........

Just a bump to say that the compo closes in under 52 hours and tomorrow morning I'm going off down to Looe for new year's festivities, I'll be taking my laptop and have interweb access sorted, but at present there are only 3 entries plus myself, I know you guys can do better than this, so just as a prompt here's a nice, open, definition of industry
An industry is generally any grouping of businesses that share a common method of generating profits, such as the "movie industry", the "automobile industry", or the "cattle industry". It is also used specifically to refer to an area of economic production focused on manufacturing which involves large amounts of upfront capital investment before any profit can be realized, also called "heavy industry."
