Has anyone fitted a different horn to their volvo?

I fancy something with a bit more of a manly sound to it.....maybe air horn ar a two tone horn... Dont want anything ridiculously loud or that plays any tunes just something that sounds a bit different..

Anybody fitted one.. i presume you just wire up to origional horn wiring?

Any suggestions on what to get ... there are a few on ebay!
:D

Stock '60 horns are dual tone, i.e. play two tones together, sounds much better than a '40 horn. Foggy has an air horn in Nessy, which can be amusing ;)

once saw a guy who had mounted a freaky eight-horn (all electrical) assembly under his hood. the noise was incredible.

on my daf i had a dual airhorn. this was fun as well!

what on earth is the use of minimum bid price if the 'buy now' price is equal?? i'd say don't fill it in then!

starting price is £80 and buy it now is £85.00 , it just means hes not prepared to take less than £80.00 for them

If i remember rightly (and my memory is terrible  ) Then you cant have just an air horn because its not immediate enough and its an MOT failure.

It'd be cool to link one of the horn buttons on the wheel to the normal horn, and the other to an air horn so you have the choice of which to use

This is solved by using compressed air tank in system, compressor creates and maintains high pressure to tank and solenoid is activated when you push horn switch and compressed air is running to horn, making sound immediately.

Some cheap air horns do have delay as they start creating pressure when you push horn switch, but real horns needs bit more air and compressor should be rather large to compress enough air on the fly so air tank is needed if one is going to install one of those into 300-series car.

I think those train / truck ones are a bit exessive!! dont really want to be giving any one a heart attack...

To be honest i would maybe wire up a new horn to a seperate switch so should be cool for MOT and for when Air horn is not appropriate!
