you cirtainly shouldnt have a b122 in there - i dont even know if those engines existed - perhaps its been swapped at some point?
you *should* have a b14 (with maybe a suffex letter e), which does 0-60 in ~14 seconds and 98mph official speeds (thats in a manual).
perhaps we could have some photos of the engine bay? are you sure its a b122e?

my guess is that its either an r-sport, or a 2l 345gls (the late ones had 2l blocks..)

it might just say 'volvo 345' which everyone presumed was a 1.4
ailenec - could you give us a photo of why you think its a b122e? by all accounts that engine never existed

There is no such engine as "B122." That engine is 2 litre Volvo engine for sure. Or bigger if someone has changed it.
Exhaust manifold is original 2-litre though so I'm almost positive that it is 2 litre. Seems to be B19E because it is fuel-injected. B200-series have a black valve cover. B19-series have that silver/grey cover. Though it could be B200E/B200F also if someone might has changed the valve cover. No big diffrencies between B19E and B200E though. Late 345 was almost the same car as the first 360. 2 litre 345 name just changed to 360 and all 1.4/1.7l 345/340 became 340. Easier to see which is 2 litre and which is 1.4/1.7. One weird thing though... 2 litre 345 was equipped with a carburettor. 360GLT was a first 300-series car with fuel injection so someone has changed the engine or the fuel-system. If that was originally 1.4 then someone must have changed the drivetrain also because aluminum cardan of the 1.4/1.7l wouldn't handle the power of 2 litre engine.

I think it's an early 360GLT injection of which the tailgate
has ever been exchanged with a badge "345GLS" on it,
due to an accident or rust at the hinges or lockings.
As good type 2 tailgates become rare, this might be the case.
A picture of the complete car could solve this mystery.
Engine is definitely a B19E. Year 1982-1984, because de rubber
mould between engine bay and hood, covers the complete front
wing flange.

I think Francois is bang-on. Its an original spec 360 GLT (B19E) with a 345 tailgate.
As far as I'm aware, there wasn't such a thing as a B122E. The codes go...
B23E - B = Benzine, 23 = 2.3, E = injection. 'High friction' - 'two digit'.
B230K - B = Benzine, 23 = 2.3, 0 = 8v, K = carb. 'Low friction' - 'four digit'.
B204FT - B = Benzine, 20 = 2.0, 4 = 16v, F = injection with cat, T = turbo. 'Low friction' - 'four digit'.
Of course it gets more complex than that, and there may well have been a B122 at some point (maybe a Penta boat engine!)....but that looks exactly like a B19E.
cheers
James

Errr Foggy?
If a B23E is a 'two digit', how are a B230K and B204FT 'four digit'??????
