I have been thinking for a while now , what do people here think of a kind of annual awards ceremony on line ,
various classes you can enter or be entered for and a poll run for each class to see who wins
classes could include
best 360
best 340
best modified
best standard ( not concours coz we aint the voc )
highest mileage
highest annual mileage
lowest mileage (MJ )
lowest annual mileage
most helpfull member
etc.etc etc
(feel free to add other catagories )
just an idea at the moment , no prizes just a bit of fun and perhaps a bit of controversy, so dont take it tooo seriously
what do you think

I Like the idea but think it would kind of be better if we did it as part of a big meet.
Just a thought

Whilst its a nice idea, it really only causes arguments in my experience.

I reckon try it once, and see how it goes, then it may be taken more serious. Most can't be done derious as a lot of the car's havn't been seen in person anyway. Does seem like a good plan

The diving club I belong to dishes out awards at the Christmas party. They have a nice mix of the serious (e.g. "best trainee" and "most helpful member") and funny (e.g. "should have known better").
Most of us look forward to the "should have know better" gong as we get to find out who forgot to zip up their dry suit / put on their fins / turn off their torch before packing it / whatever. Of course, Geoff won the award when he packed his high intensity torch in the 'on' position, then wondered why smoke was seeping out of his suitcase whilst waiting to check it onto the aircraft.
I'm sure that most of us on v3m are good-humoured enough not to mind too much if someone wins an award that we feel should really be ours. There probably are websites out there where people would argue about "my car deserved to win Best 360, but your heap of rust won it instead", but surely we're not that petty?

I think there is not enough people ? I mean if there is 10 cars, it is not still very much to choose from.
If it would be arranged in meeting, then there would be even less people, only few of those that are in UK?

Ahhhh, but Jani, most people on here are hapyp to admit when they've been silly, like say, for example the Foggy award for most times run out of fuel, the Andy award for best use of a blowtorch, the Steve award for not checking the fuses when told, the Chris award for dumping oil over Nicks drive etc

Keep it as online - It's more fun when everyone is involved

I like the idea, especially if I win something
I think we also need a vote for best V3M food, and my vote goes to Hugh's mums Apple crumble
