R.I.P Tulip

Post by Stuntman »

Well, it's happened. I had a total gearbox failure and loss of oil pressure on the way home from Lincoln today. I was driving along, quite normally and then BANG!!!! (with the exclaimation marks) horrible grinding noise from the gearbox loss of drive and power. I managed to get 3rd gear and movement then struggled the next 5 miles back to derbyshire, when I pulled up at home the oil pressure gauge read 0 bar at hot idle, and 1 bar at 2k rpm, I've decided as Tulip has served me well the last 3 years and never really let me down, I'll try to help her live on:

So I'm now on the hunt for a 240 SALOON, must be cheap and prefferably T&T'd, I know it's a big wish list but you know, you don't get if you don't ask.

I'll start by swapping out all the rare stuff in Tulip to the new car and when I'm happy with the new car I'll look at graphics :)

Anyway just thought I'd update everyone,

Doh! Not a good start to the year. It'd be interesting to know what exactly happened to make it expire. Good luck mate, I'll keep an eye out for ya.

There's a 2ltr on ebay at the moment that I'm looking at. Guy wants 300 cash to end the auction early.
Item number: 170065511432

Don't know if that helps at all mate.

Do feel free to let me take some of the parts off that B23E for you ;)

If you're scrapping the shell, there are some other parts I could use too.

cheers

Tulip is now being replaced with ....... Pi'lut a 240 a reg flat hood saloon, which is to be resprayed black, lowered and given black GLT alloys, then the dual roll bar front and back treatment, all my extra gauges, window tints, sound system, lpg, GLT rear axel, grooved discs and mintex pads all round, a set of stainless hoses and leather, and polybushes provided by Dai

And maybe a few more bits and bobs, oh and she will get the vinyl treatment when the paint dries!

long live tulip

I take it you're doing a flathood conversion, as an A plate car ought to have the 'big' bonnet.

How about painting it white and going with the group A 'nordic war stripes?

cheers
